What are retreats?

“And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul?” Jesus, Matthew 16:26 NLT

A retreat is a key way of attending to your own soul, as well as an intentional act of generosity towards God as you set aside a dedicated amount of time to come away from all distractions and give him your undivided attention.

We as 24-7 Prayer Scotland are delighted to be able to help facilitate times of retreat throughout the year, which will always appear here.

Before the Mountain Retreat – 6-8 October 2023

Lord, You have always been our refuge.
Our ancestors made You their home long ago.
Before mountains were born,
before You fashioned the earth and filled it with life,
from ages past to distant futures,
You are truly God.”
Psalm 90:1-2

On 6 – 8 October, we will host a retreat at the wonderful Compass Christian Centre near Glenshee.

As we meet with God out in the beautiful wild of the Cairngorms, we will be exploring the wildness of God and what it looks like to encounter him in his wildness both individually and together.

There will be much time given to being out in the wild both on our own and together through activities like walks and time around the fire, as well as times of input, time to rest and relax in the cosy centre, and time around the table together enjoying the delicious food prepared for us the wonderful chef and staff at Compass.

More details to come but book your place soon as we have limited spaces!
